  • Abby Buchanan’s dance training began at the age of 3 years old in her hometown of Newark, Ohio. She has had the opportunity to train in a variety of dance styles under the direction of many talented dance educators, including those at the Joffrey Ballet school, Point Park University, and Steps off Broadway. She has also trained with the Radio City Rockettes in their Rockette Summer Intensive Program, at the Conservatoire National Supêrieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Paris, France, and among various academies in the country of Denmark. In May 2023 Abby graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Dance. She is currently finishing up the Exercise Science (Pre-Physical Therapy) portion of her Dual Degree. During her time as an undergraduate she has worked with many accredited choreographers such as Valarie Williams, Daniel Roberts, Paul Boos, and the Ballet Met Dance company. She has performed works in Paris, France, Copenhagen Denmark, and New York City. Abby was a member of the Ohio State University Club Dance Team, which is a competitive team that has ranked in the top 5 at the NDA College Dance National competition. She is also an experienced teacher and choreographer, winning many awards for her works on the stage. Abby joined WhirlWind Dance Company in 2023 as a Community | Artist. She looks forward to expanding her artistry and choreographic mindset with this amazing company.

  • Angela Pujolas, originally from Cleveland, OH, currently works as a dancer, waitress, social media/marketing manager, and yoga instructor in Columbus, OH. From the age of 3, Pujolas began dancing and it quickly became her number one passion. Growing up, she competed from ages 8-17 while also acting & singing as she was partaking in musicals, an acapella group, chorale, and show choir for her high school, Rocky River High School. Pujolas pursued dance at The Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Dance performance with Magna Cum Laude. Recently, she has been a part of 3 dance companies in Columbus: Cultivate Dance Project, InPulse Dance Company, and WhirlWind Dance Company. Additionally, she received her 200 hr RYTT in Costa Rica with Inner Sea Yoga Academy. Pujolas is extremely excited to be working with WhirlWind for a second year as a Community | Artist, and cannot wait to explore and push her artistic growth through this experience.

  • Caitlyn Higley (she/her) is a Columbus based dancer who performs with WhirlWind Dance as a Community | Artist. She received her BFA in Dance with a minor in Integrative Approaches to Health & Wellness from the Ohio State University in 2021. Throughout college, she focused on contemporary, ballet, anatomy, and somatic practices. Caitlyn enjoys choreographing dance and continually learning about the body from a holistic and artistic standpoint.

  • Camryn Nease is a performer, dance educator, and choreographer from Columbus, Ohio who began her training at Dublin Dance Centre & Gymnastics. She then pursued a BFA. in Dance at The Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2022. Over the course of her dance training, Camryn has worked with choreographers and dance professionals such as Gamal Brown, Joshua Manculich, Crystal Michelle Perkins, Edward Taketa, Gregory King, Christopher Huggins, Sarah Tallman, Adam Cates, and Cassidy Noblett. She also had the opportunity to train and teach in Bangkok, Thailand as a member of East Meets West at Kent State University in January of 2019. This will be Camryn’s second season with The WhirlWind, and she is honored and excited to be involved!

  • Emily Hill (she/her) is a dancer and choreographer from South Lyon, MI. In April of 2023, she graduated from Western Michigan University, and earned a BFA in dance and a minor in marketing. Throughout her time at Western, Emily had the privilege of working with Yin-Yue and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and performed works choreographed by guest artists Kiki Lucas and Kimberly Cooper of Decidedly Jazz DanceWorks, as well as works choreographed by faculty members Monique Haley and Seyong Kim. Emily also served as a member of Western Dance Project, WMU Dance Department’s touring performance company under the direction of Kelsey Paschich, and served as the apparel and marketing coordinator for Orchesis Dance Society, a registered student organization through the Department of Dance. Emily recently moved to Columbus, Ohio in the fall of 2023 to join WhirlWind, a contemporary dance company under the direction of Joshua Manculich.

  • Hayden Summers, born and raised in Charleston, WV, currently resides in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2023 with a BFA in Dance with a concentration in Performance & Choreography. While there, Hayden gained experience in technical, music, and film production and enjoys incorporating all these mediums intoher creative works. She participated in SRU Dance Theater all 4 years as both a performer and choreographer, as well as working with guest artists such as Helen Simoneau and Cameron McKinney from Kizuna Dance. She is also inspired by her recent research on the connection between neurodiversity and dance. Hayden is very excited about joining WhirlWind as a Community | Artist this season!

  • Lyndi Buckholz is originally from Jackson, New Jersey and recieved her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from George Mason University. While in college she got the opportunity to work with Hope Boykin on a piece called Running to and Toward Time that premiered online at the end of 2020. Throughout college she also had the chance to create several choreographic works that were performed in person, as well as online. After college, she relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where she joined The Big Muddy Dance Company as a Trainee. While in St. Louis shegot to work with people such as Kirven Douthit-Boyd, Lindsay Hawkins, Robert Poe, Sara Brendel, Tasha Hinex, Natalie Williams, Jacob Henss, and Joshua Peugh. Lyndi is very excited to start the next chapter of life at WhirlWind, and explore what Columbus has to offer!

  • Madelyn Kraynik is a dancer, educator, and choreographer, originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana. In spring of 2023, she graduated from Sam Houston State University, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Marketing. Madelyn has been a guest artist with NobleMotion Dance, a professional company based out of Houston, Texas. Recently, she had the privilege of traveling to Lucca, Italy to train and perform works by Milan Kampfer, Maya Orchin, Evan Supple, Stefano De Luca, Julian Barnett, and others at Dance Italia. Throughout her collegiate career, she had the great honor of working and collaborating with various choreographers including Francisco (Cisco) Graciano, Travis Lake, Adele Nickel, Joshua Manculich, Evelyn Toh, and Andy and Dionne Noble. Madelyn is excited to have moved to Columbus, Ohio to dance with WhirlWind Dance Company under the direction of Joshua Manculich.

  • Margaret Steimel is a dancer and choreographer from Aurora, Illinois. She started dancing at the age of 3 at Steps Dance Center. She recently graduated from the University of Iowa with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance, specialty in choreography, and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She enjoys incorporating psychological research in her choreography. In her time in Iowa, she has been a part of numerous concerts such as Fac/Grad, Dance Gala, MFA/BFA, Grad/Undergrad, including touring with the University of Iowa Dance Company. She worked with choreographers Eloy Barragan, Jennifer Kayle, Stephanie Miracle, and Armando Duarte. Most recently her work, “Internal Affairs,” was presented at the American College Dance Association (ACDA). Margaret has taken training intensives offered by DanceWorks Chicago, RUBBERBAND, and Visceral Dance Chicago. Margaret also assisted and performed with the Hollywood Vibe Pro-Company for two seasons. She is excited to dance for the WhirlWind Dance Company this season as a Community | Artist.

  • Rachel Fish, a Columbus, Ohio native, is a choreographer and dance educator in the competitive circuit, as well as a former competitive dancer. Rachel graduated with a BA in Public Relations and a minor in Dance from Otterbein University, in which she had the opportunity of choreographing and performing in a number of dance and theatre productions under the direction of Stella Hiatt Kane. These include but are not limited to Chicago, The Pajama Game, and Singin' in the Rain, along with numerous featured roles in concert dance productions. Additionally, she was a two-time recipient of the Joanne Van Sant Musical Theatre and Dance Honors Award. Rachel is currently a resident dance instructor and choreographer in the Columbus area for both dance and theatre, as well as a judge and master class teacher for Groove Dance Competitions. Aside from dance, Rachel is a freelance graphic designer and social media manager.

  • Sam Marszalek was born and raised as a dancer in Pittsburgh, PA, for 20 years. She was first introduced to dance styles in the competition atmosphere at only five years old. In addition to traditional dance training, she broadened her skills by training in American and International ballroom dance for five years. Samantha graduated from high school in 2019 and attends The Ohio State University for a BFA in Dance and Strategic Communications and a BA in Musical Theatre. So far in her college career, she has engaged in self-exploratory movement research, choreographed works for clubs on campus as well as in the Dance Department, created dance films around the world, received a leadership position in the arts, and received many honors, such as her Distinction in Dance. As well as being a full-time student, she works as a dance educator at Columbus Dance Arts Academy, judges local dance competitions in the Columbus area, and is a Community | Artist member for WhirlWind.

  • Sebastian Goodman is a dancer and choreographer from Maryland. He is originally from Colombia but moved to the US when he was 11. Since moving to the US his love for dance has grown exponentially over the years, leading to a dance degree (BA) from Denison University from which he graduated from in 2023. Sebastian has had the amazing opportunity to have worked with artists such as Molly Shanahan, Ojeya Cruz Banks, Marion Ramirez, Carlos Funn, and Joshua Manculich. He is excited to join the professional world of dance where he will be able to grow and get to meet talented and unique people from whom he hopes to build relationships with, collaborate and learn from them! Sebastian is also looking forward to joining WhirlWind this 23-24 season as a Community | Artist!
